Dental Implants and Oral Surgery in Novi Sad

Dental Implants
A dental implant is an artificial root placed in the jaw to support a crown, a bridge, or a denture. It’s an option for patients who have lost one tooth, several teeth, or all of them.

Dr. Rackov places only premium Astra Tech implants (by Dentsply Sirona). Before placement, a CBCT scan is taken and the bone is assessed. It usually takes a few months for the implant to fuse with the bone, depending on bone quality and which jaw is being treated.
All-on-4 / All-on-6
All-on-4 and All-on-6 are solutions for a jaw with no teeth left, or with teeth that can no longer be saved. A fixed bridge rests on four or six implants, with no removable denture.

The final restoration is made once the bone has healed around the implants, usually 3–4 months after placement.
Sinus Lift
A sinus lift raises the membrane of the sinus floor in the upper jaw and adds bone graft material. It’s needed when there isn’t enough bone in the back of the upper jaw to place an implant.

It can be done with an internal (closed) or external (open) approach. In some cases, the implant is placed during the same visit.
Bone Grafting (Augmentation)
Bone augmentation rebuilds bone that has been lost, using bone substitutes, membranes, or the patient’s own bone.

It makes implants possible where they weren’t before. The implant is placed at the same time or after a healing period.
Tooth Extraction
A tooth is removed when it can no longer be saved with treatment. The extraction is done gently, preserving the surrounding bone and gums.

If an implant is planned for later, the empty socket is often filled with bone graft material right away to preserve the bone.
Wisdom Tooth Removal
Wisdom teeth are removed when they are partly or fully impacted in the bone, or when they cause inflammation, pain, or decay in the neighboring tooth.

Before the procedure, imaging is done to assess the tooth’s position and its relation to other important anatomical structures. The procedure is done under local anesthesia, and recovery usually takes a few days.
Apicoectomy
An apicoectomy is the surgical removal of the root tip and the inflamed tissue around it. It’s done when a root canal isn’t possible or isn’t enough to clear the infection.

The goal is to save the tooth instead of extracting it.
Frenectomy
A frenectomy removes or reshapes the frenulum, the thin fold of tissue under the lip or tongue. It’s done when the frenulum pulls on the gums, causes a gap between the front teeth, or limits tongue movement.

The procedure is short and done under local anesthesia.

Approach

Biology-First Implantology

Biology-first implantology means the treatment plan is built around the condition of your bone, your gums, and your overall health, not around the implant itself. The implant is only part of the solution. Long-term success depends on the tissue around it.

Three principles

Bone and Soft Tissue
Every treatment starts with a 3D scan (CBCT) and a soft-tissue assessment. If there isn’t enough bone, it’s rebuilt first, and only then is the implant placed.
Minimal Trauma
Teeth are removed gently, preserving the surrounding bone. Incisions are only as large as they need to be. Less trauma means faster healing and a smoother recovery.
Results That Last
The plan takes into account your overall health, habits, and oral hygiene. Regular check-ups follow placement, because an implant needs the same care as a natural tooth.

The goal isn’t the fastest placement or a quick finish. It’s an implant and restoration that are still stable and healthy ten years from now.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does getting an implant hurt?
The implant is placed under local anesthesia, so the procedure itself is painless.

Mild sensitivity and swelling for a few days afterward are normal and are managed with regular over-the-counter pain relievers.
How long does implant treatment take?
From placement to the final tooth usually takes a few months, while the implant fuses with the bone. If bone grafting or a sinus lift is needed, treatment takes longer.

You’ll get an exact plan after the consultation and CBCT scan.
What if I don’t have enough bone for an implant?
Missing bone can usually be rebuilt with bone grafting or a sinus lift.

That’s why a bone assessment and CBCT scan are the first step of every treatment.
Can I get teeth right after the implant is placed?
Usually not. After placement, a temporary denture is often made for appearance, but it isn’t meant for chewing.

The final teeth are made once the implants have fused with the bone.
How long does an implant last?
An implant can last for decades if the bone and gums stay healthy and the patient keeps up with oral hygiene and check-ups.

That’s why biology-first implantology focuses most on the tissue around the implant.
Who can’t get an implant?
Age alone isn’t a barrier.

Some conditions, such as uncontrolled diabetes, certain medications, or heavy smoking, call for extra preparation or evaluation. We’ll discuss this at your consultation.
Do you treat patients from abroad?
Yes. Consultations are available in English, Serbian, and Russian.

The treatment plan can be adjusted for patients traveling from another city or country.
